Speech of Paramount King Dr. Rev. Hendrik Witbooi I am glad I am here this morning at the 103rd commemoration of our late Captain and Heroes of our nation. I will not be very long because I also want our visitors from South Africa to say a word, of what is in their heart to the celebrates. After 30 years of hard labour this is my message for you today (2 Nov.'08). Let the record speak for me. During my younger and healthier days, I have tried to stand in the gap and to lead my people like a biblical Moses. I have tried to give hope in the dark era of apartheid and the struggle for freedom...
But if I have to live my life again, I won’t want it to be any different, but I would want to be born into the /Khowese clan, and I would want to walk in the footsteps of the legendary Captain Hendrik Witbooi, Auta !Nanseb, and I would want people to associate the name Hendrik Witbooi with courage, bravery, determination and commitment to a cause you can believe in..jpg)
My generation has ashamedly faced the challenges of life and we heeded the call to duty and service without reservation. We have turned biblically the other cheek and walked the extra mile, in providing service to humanity and in the superior call for freedom. As I cast my eyes on the days and years of yesterday, I can see that I have stood firmly on the shoulders of people you could rely upon, and that I have worked with colleagues and comrades you could trust and confide in. My generation was blessed, because freedom was our objective and the commitment to the struggle was our only weapon, but we stood the test of time whilst others seated on the fence of material benefits.
As we are celebrating 30 years of leadership in office, I can truly attest that I have been truthful to my office and to my people. In the later years of office, new and younger sons and daughters has arisen who are truly proud members of this tribe. The destination is still far off, because on the path we trod, it is not yet Uhuru for everyone. My people are trapped in poverty and related social ills, but these my people can overcome if my people are united in mind, in soul and action. I know I have taken forward the sons and daughters who can dream big dreams with the sky as their limit, with lofty and noble visions for our clan. Come my people and let us march forward, because victory is certain. |
